Shhh! Couture Design Competition
Design Competition Winners!
So...
The two competition winners are -
Hayley Sharman and Janine Basil.
Each collection is so brilliant, that I couldn't possibly choose between the two. They are completely different and so unique. Shhh! Couture is so proud to have these two designers and their mini collections as part of the brand.
Hayley and Janine - I'll be emailing you both over the weekend so we can get things moving :D
I hope everyone is as excited as I am about these collaborations.
One last thank you to everyone who entered, and to everyone that has commented and given their opinions on the designs. It's really appreciated :)

After weeks of sitting and drawing different
concepts, and being the perfectionist I am,
I finally came up with designs
that I am quite proud of.
For my concept i designed a range of lingerie pieces,
which can be mixed and matched,
with cut out lace, zips and bows.

there are a lot of really strong designs
and amazing talent out their.
Although the winner will be decided by Shhh! couture
and a panel of judges, they
would still like to see peoples thoughts
on each entry.
So why not pop along to facebook and let them
know what you think.
My designs can be seen HERE.
And all other entries in the Design competition folder.

Boux Avenue
Theo Paphitis' new lingerie brand Boux Avenue.
The wait now is finally over and Boux Avenue is officially open.
Their online store went live on the 1st April
and their 8 UK stores have been opening since then with the last opening
on the 8th April
Today is the first real chance I have had to look at what they had to offer,
and they definitely do not disappoint.
Having already known that Boux Avenue's size ranges were to include up to a
40G cup, I was still surprised to find 3 pages of DD+ bras.
I often find myself lusting over the smaller bras in shops, only to find that
if they do have it in a DD+ cup, it doesn't live up to the overall look of the smaller bra.
But not in this case. What they have to offer is far from mundane,
and for most cases, those prettier
smaller bras I am drawn to, also come in the larger sizes, with
every effort to keep the same fabric, design and appeal.
Boux Avenue lingerie is split in to two categories this season
Vintage Garden Party and Burlesque Boudoir.
There are pages worth of beautiful lingerie, but i have chosen my favourites
from each theme. All the bras I have chosen
to feature are those which have sizes in DD+.

Georgia spot mesh balconette bra - £24Sizes, unfortunately this is only stocked in a 32A- 38DD
Pleated polka dot mesh balconette bra.
Burlesque Boudoir
Tori lace moulded plunge bra - £22Sizes 32A - 38F
Nude plunge bra with exotic Moroccan lantern lace overlay
Tori lace body £34Out of stock so no sizes listed.
Black mesh thong body, with Exotic lace overlay and peek-a-boo back feature.
Provocative lace unpadded balconette bra £26Sizes 32D - 38G
Lavender cup with a beautiful black lace overlay with scallop and eyelash trim.
Frilly Milly shorts £8Sizes 8-16
Sheer mesh knicker with rows of frilly lace.
French fancy chiffon chemise and knickers set £28Sizes 8-16
Sheer floaty chiffon chemise embelished with rows of white lace.
Ava vintage floral balconette £24Sizes 32A - 38F
Vintage inspired floral print with a black sheer lace trim.
These are just a few of my personal favourites, and there are plenty of other
sizes available with some ranges in the following sizes, bras up to a 40G, knickers up to a size 20, Suspenders, babydolls and slips up to a size 18.
And if nothing above takes your fancy then there are whole ranges
for more everyday wear in black and white, nightwear and loungewear in a range
of cottons and homewear pieces to fill your home with
a little bit of Boux Avenue.

Paris Fashion Week Favourites
One word sums up my love of this collection is
LINGERIE.
As a lingerie designer, I love the interesting shapes
and necklines that have been created with this collection, they are
edgy and unique but still something you could wear.
It is shame lingerie seems to have taken a back
seat this season.
With the sheer trend setting in there has been a tedious amount
of bare chested models being sent down the catwalk.
And even though the Mugler runway show is guilty of this,
I applaud the attention to detail with the bras.
Don't get me wrong, I do like this trend, but I think I would
prefer to keep a little of my modesty by wearing a bra as well as
a strap top underneath my blouse this summer.
